I'm in love with my enemy...
And that fatal mistake will destroy us both.
Sarah
A tragedy stole my family, and my father’s last wishes destroyed my future.
I didn’t inherit my family’s billion-dollar company, but I’m the only one who can protect our legacy. Atwood Industries isn’t rightfully mine. It belongs only to a male heir—my heir.
And, my enemy, Nicholas Bennett, will stop at nothing to create a shared bloodline.
Nicholas might be handsome and sophisticated, but he’s as ruthless as he is dangerous. When he captures me for his own, he attempts to take my company the only way he can.
In the bedroom.
But Nicholas Bennett has made a huge mistake, and he’ll forever regret trying to control me.
If I don’t fall for him first.
Nicholas
I have no choice. To protect my family, we must conquer our rival, Atwood Industries. Even if that means seizing an innocent woman. Even if that means capturing a beautiful creature, taking her, sharing her…
I never expected her to be a challenge.
And I never thought I’d betray my own blood to save Sarah from the nightmare we began.
But if I don’t stop her, the woman I’m forbidden to love will sacrifice herself to destroy everything I’ve created.
I’m in love with my enemy.
And that madness will end both our lives.
Note The Takeover Trilogy is the very definition of a dark romance. You’ll squirm. Your heart will race. And some content might be a little much for certain readers.
But, for those of you who like their romances over-the-top, rough, and remorselessly passionate…this completed series is for you. Takeover is a bdsm ménage romance, but no characters will cheat on their way to a happily-ever-after.
There’s ménage. BDSM. Three men desperate to put a baby in an innocent woman’s belly. This is a book about risk, love, and revenge. It’s as sexy as it is enthralling.
Curious? Don’t be scared. This is the dark romance you were too afraid to ask for…
Takeover A Dark Romance The Legacy Series Book 1 edition by Lana Grayson Literature Fiction eBooks
Well, I have to say that this series isn't for everyone. I'm not exactly 'sure' why I purchased this one, and truly it was hard to read. I had to put the book down for periods of time to take a break from everything. This isn't an easy read - and I have one more confession to make in this first review (there will be reviews for the two remaining books to follow). I got to a point in the book that I needed to know if there would be a good ending before I continued. So, silly me, I bought books 2 and 3 and read the endings before I finished book one. A Cardinal Sin, I know, but this is NOT an easy read, and I wasn't sure I could go on unless things came to a good conclusion in the end.I will say that these books will take you over, and you will have to finish them to the end. To say I 'loved' the book is a tough one, but I am glad I read all three now and came to a good conclusion. This is the strangest review I have ever written, but I had to be truthful.
These books are not an easy read, and to say they are 'Dark' is not the complex description they deserve. Please read the books in order. Actually you really have to for understanding. The characters are hateful, loving, harsh, and even (a few times) sympathetic. It is a true depiction of what childhood experiences develop a person's character.

Takeover A Dark Romance The Legacy Series Book 1 edition by Lana Grayson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Okay. So I grabbed this book from one review that said it is what Indebted by Pepper Winters wanted to do but couldn't. She made me believe what was happening. She was partly right...
Because at the core of all these dark romances is a level of depravity that each author is trying to one up. To the point where it's really hard to believe anything happening to anyone in these books. Because I know rich folks get away with a lot of shenanigans (see Donald Trump running for president). But to this level...
Okay. Let's say I buy it. To enjoy this book you HAVE to believe the plot. So I believed it. Yet even as I was believing it I figured out a way to kill the father with it looking natural. They are all equally wealthy and powerful.
At the end of the day I skipped the 'torture' scenes. I believe it was why I enjoyed it how I did. I skimmed to know what was happening without getting angry about it. I am kinda in love with all the brothers. I think they underestimated their fathers deterioration. I personally don't think it's 'warped' each man I believe is in love with her. Maybe that's why I gave this some room. I adore multi-partner parings. I see something horrible happening. I think she's going to get pregnant. Yet, from a believable stand point in struggling to see a HEA. Only because I believe Sarah deserves the vindication of killing Darius as the only happy ever after. I also believe she deserves those shares in the company. I like Max best, just sayin'.
I need a breather before I dive into book two. Maybe I'll wait until book three is out so I don't abuse myself waiting.
2.5 stars. By 's rating three means it's an okay read and I don't think i can say i didn't like it which would be a two star rating. Anyways the start of this book was interesting though I wouldn't say it was promising. Sarah is working hard to keep her company from a rival family who she believes killed her father- her father who really didn't like her because she was a girl and he wanted a third son. So throughout the book she is blindly devoted to this dead man thinking he meant well when it came to the family business and her only to find out that he didn't give two sh-ts about her really. She is kidnapped by the rival family who wants her to give them a heir so they can take her family company.
At first i liked how the brothers reacted to their father's plan to "breed" her. They didn't want to do it but then it just became apparent they were just spineless, little, cowards who did anything their dad told them.
Nicholas was the worst. He was annoying saying that she was his and he would protect her but then acted all cool, calm and collected when she was being beaten by his father. Only to run to her later and repeat the same thing again about how he would protect her but don't anger his father blah, blah, blah. Then Max beats her and he runs to his brother and hits him asking him all kinds of questions about what he did to her and stuff. What an idiot.
Basically the real villain is the dad who will do anything and everything he can to save his family business. But even though his sons don't like the situation they do it anyways because Nick has some takeover plan to over throw his dad from the company and take it over. So i guess as the readers we are suppose to believe that the sons are still the good guys. Well i guess i can cut Reed some slack since he actually does and try to get away from their dad but the older two brothers? No dice for me. They're jerks.
As for Sarah I like her determination to find out her father's death. But I am looking for something different with stories like this. I would like it that the heroine doesn't fall for the people she wants to bring down.
Not reading the second book though. There is a one star review that reveals who knocks her up on the review page on the second book. but I don't want to read it because I'm no longer interested in the story anymore. I want something different.
Rating this book is an interesting dilemma. I almost put this book down early on when I realized the path it careened toward. While I enjoy stepbrother romances when written well, the darkness of this story challenged me. The writing itself was good at times, overly-detailed and repetitive at others. Ultimately, the power struggle interested me enough to continue the book and series. I think if you're a fan of DARK romances and are willing to set aside your morality to read the story, it's a good read. However, I couldn't give more than 3 stars for the simple reason that the editing was rough at times (e.g. "brake" for cars, not "break").
